Computers cannot think and they do not understand the way people understand things. People have cognitive limits and created technology can be expected to be capped at the limit of its creators in represented concepts. Many technologies refine what has come before. Several technologies that look different on the surface are often of the same kind, class, and general blueprint. Abstract mathematical constructs can be devised that are a different kind than what exist in nature. The expression of these constructs in technology may represent innovation that goes beyond incremental refinement. Until then, the way we express ourselves and their representation in technology will follow more or less along recognizable forms.
